Overview

The Wekano water stop is a high-performance water barrier made of high-quality flexible PVC. It is engineered to be cast into concrete joints in water-retaining structures, acting as an impermeable dam that cuts the water path through construction joints and expansion joints.

Multiple ribs ensure full bond with the concrete and lengthen the water path, making leakage virtually impossible. The strip also resists chemicals found in sewage and soil — an essential element for swimming pools, water tanks and basements.

Key Features

  • Prevents water passage in both directions
  • Multiple ribs for full bond with concrete
  • Resistant to chlorine, seawater and sewage
  • Heat-weldable joints for continuous protection

Applications

  • Kicker joint between base slab and wall
  • Construction joints in floor slabs
  • Horizontal and vertical wall joints
  • Joints between walls and roof slabs
  • Swimming pools, water tanks, sewage works and basements

Application Guide

  1. 01

    Positioning and fixing

Fix the strip exactly in the middle of the wall or slab thickness using clips or tie wire to the reinforcement to prevent movement during pouring.

  2. 02

    First pour

Pour concrete to fully embed half of the strip width. Vibrate carefully to avoid honeycombing around the strip.

  3. 03

    Second pour

After the first pour has set, pour the remaining concrete to embed the other half, creating a continuous water barrier.

  4. 04

    Welding and joints

Where a new length is needed, heat-weld the ends with a heating blade to keep the barrier continuous.
